Snow in Portland

The last few times it’s snowed in Portland over the years, I’ve been out of town. Those people who are allergic to snow would love this turn of fate. They’d be happy to miss out on having to walk or drive in the snow. Me, I’m not that way at all. I love the part of town where I live and want to experience it in all of its moods and conditions. When I heard that it would snow this weekend, I was very excited that I’d be here for it.

In the Snow

Sure enough, this morning when I woke up and looked out the window, it was snowing. Huzzah! Of course, I grabbed the camera and made a few photographs, including the one above. If I were slightly more dedicated, I would have opened up the window instead of shooting through the glass. Alas, I chose to wimp out and not refrigerate my home. I’ll get out into the white stuff later and see what I can find.

What a difference a few miles makes. At my place in Vancouver (WA) there is now snow, the roads are dry and it's (barely) freezing.

Really lovely image! Once again I'm incredibly jealous that everywhere in the US appears to be getting snow and it's 60 degrees in Boston today. Insanity, right?

Brr! I'm hoping the snow bound for Seattle waits until I get home after lunch. (:
