Treasure Island Pier

While on my way to SFO International Airport to fly home yesterday, I stopped off at Treasure Island to soak up the view of San Francisco for a while. It was late afternoon and there was a bit of marine layer rolling over Twin Peaks and through the Golden Gate. It wasn’t exactly the kind of view that most tourists would go for, what the sky full of haze, but something about it was just what I needed. I sat for a while on the western bank and watched the sailboats, ferries, and cargo ships go by.

It seems like every time I’m on the island, I park near this pier thinking I’ll walk out on it to enjoy the view of the city. Alas, it’s been closed off for a while because its in such disrepair. This time, I was content sitting on the rocks nearby and turning it into my subject for the afternoon. It wasn’t a bad way to spend a bit of time.
