Rails Magazine Issue No. 2

During RailsConf 2009, the folks over at Rails Magazine contacted me to inquire if they could use my photos from the event in their RailsConf 2009 report. I agreed, and the result is in Rails Magazine Issue No 2.

The cover image is one of the images I shot during the show trying to make something from the extremely black environment we were in. The stage was minimal and black. The main lights were weak. Very week. No matter how much of my own light I threw into the mix, black was the predominate color. Unless I was to start rolling in my own backgrounds and truck in some mono blocks—and don’t think I haven’t considered it from time to time—I was stuck. So, I rolled with it and used my Speedlights to backlight the audience in the shot above.
